A Quick Trip to the USA

I (Larry) thoroughly enjoyed my short trip to the USA in May and June. My only difficulty was being away from the family for so long! I am grateful to all who hosted me, helped me, arranged meetings for me, fed me, etc. It was a fruitful trip, and God was with me the whole way. I met many new people, renewed friendships, and in general was overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I received. I was even treated to a gorgeous horseback ride in the Sapphire Mountains (Thanks, Kelly!)

School Begins Again

Seth is now in 3rd grade, and all his friends are right there with him. Petar, Domagoj and Dragomir came over to play often this past summer, and Seth rattles off Croatian as good as they do now.

Tal is a now a senior and Brennen a junior. Tal plans to take his SAT test in October, so he'll be concentrating on studying for that for a while. Brennen will be into Physics, Government, Precalculus, French and Writing. And both have started back into tennis, too.

Kristfest 2008

In late May STEP was once again involved with Kristfest--a musical celebration of Christ, sponsored by one of the local Catholic churches. This year we were invited to lead high school students in Bible Studies about Jesus. We led two workshops, and both were attended by about 25 students! They loved the style of study and discussion that we used, and one of the leaders from the church asked if we could help him to learn how to develop such Bible Studies!

Summer Camp at Cinta, on Ugljan Island

STEP's annual summer camp went very well, with 30 students attending. Our theme was "The Journey", and we focused on the Christian life as a process, where you need a good map (the Bible), the right tour guide (Jesus), and a definite destination (salvation through Jesus--eternity with God!). We also talked about inviting others on the journey (evangelism). Several of the students wrote at the end of the week that they really wanted to spend more time with God and witness more for Him.


SCHOOL BEGINS SOON!!

Classes at the university here will begin around the first of October, so we are just now starting to plan and pray about what to do to get the group going again this Fall. A couple of the students involved last year have recently communicated to us their excitement to return and get something going again, with some BIG ideas, so with that we are encouraged. We look forward to seeing what God will do!

Camp Mania

We (Tal and Brennen) were at camp for 3 weeks this summer. We had a Blast!!!!! For one week we were the "campers", with 30 other MK's from around the region. We made some great friends and learned a lot about God. Then, for a few days we had some training/teaching, followed by a week where we were "Junior Camp Helpers", and were able to serve the campers and help with various tasks. Oh yeah, and we got to spend 3 days at STEPS's summer camp on the sea. NICE!!!
